Replacement Schedule
Replace your filter on a regular basis. Depending on your home's conditions—such as pets, allergies, or dust, you may need to change it more often to help maintain air quality and system efficiency.
Airflow Direction
The airflow arrow printed on your filter should always point toward the furnace or air handler. Installing the filter backwards reduces efficiency and can damage your HVAC system.
Filter Installation
Remove the old filter from the slot. Insert the new filter fully into the slot with the arrow pointing toward the furnace. Never force the filter—it should slide in smoothly.
Filter Types
MERV 8: Basic filtration for dust and pollen. MERV 11: Enhanced filtration for pet dander and mold spores. MERV 13: Superior filtration for smoke and bacteria. HEPA: Hospital-grade filtration for allergens and viruses.
Filter Size
The filter size is printed on the side of your existing filter. Common residential sizes include 16x20x1, 16x25x1, and 20x20x1. Using the correct size ensures proper airflow and system efficiency.
